Resumo:The purpose of this research project is the selection of environmental sustainability indicators for the conservation of the Área Nacional de Recreación El Boliche. The goal is to identify environmental indicators, distinguishing the problems and establishing strategies for the preservation of the protected area. The methodology used had an analytical-deductive approach, supported by a bibliographical review that allowed to identify the environmental problem and carry out a qualitative analysis, in the data collection the following were implemented: on-site visits, interviews with the park rangers in charge of the area and surveys to the visiting population, implementing the Atlas Ti software for its validation, in this way, the concrete and true information of the current situation was obtained, applying the PER (pressure-state response) approach for the collection of environmental indicators. As a result, 40 indicators were found, divided into six fundamental factors, organized as follows: 6 indicators for the water factor, 4 indicators for the air factor, 10 indicators for the biodiversity factor, 7 indicators for the forest factor, 5 indicators for the land factor and 8 indicators for the tourism factor. From these findings, proposals for conservation based on these 6 selected factors were developed. In conclusion, it is established that the awareness and education of tourists is key to reducing negative impacts, the collaboration of the community and park rangers will be essential to ensure the conservation of the protected area, these proposals suggest activities that strengthen decision-making and promote proper behavior.
