| Summary: | This research project was developed at the facilities of the Technical University of Cotopaxi specifically in the hacienda house of the Salache campus, in the laboratory of the race of Agronomic Engineering. The general objective of the research is to evaluate the effect of an ethylene inhibitor in the postharvest behavior of strawberries (Fragaria vesca), in three indices of color. A randomized complete block design (DBCA) was used with a 3x3 factorial arrangement giving a total of 9 treatments 27 experimental units. Dosages of Ethylene Inhibitor were 0,1 and 1,5 cm2 which was the size used in each tub in pubs harvest. With indicators to be evaluated as physiopathies, weight loss firmness, pH, solids and ashes. With results: The Best ethylene dose was I2 (1,2 cm2) recording a weight loss of 2,51%, 90,11% of incidence of physiopathies, 6 pH 6,83° BRIX and 0,91% firmness. The best index for harvesting is C1 (75% red) demostared an incidence of physiopathies of 91,12%, a firmness of 0,91 kg, with a weight loss of 1,62% in terms of ash none of the indices showed significance. |
