Shrnutí:This research was carried out in the Quindialo neighbourhood of the Quisapincha parish canton of Ambato in the province of Tungurahua, the main objective was to evaluate the effect of supplementation with mineral blocks on the productivity of guinea pigs on natural forages by direct observation to determine the efficiency of the parameters 10 % mineral blocks are used and 20%, For the completion of the study 90 guinea pigs (mestizos) of 30 days of age with an average weight of 200 to 250 grams were selected, three groups were categorized for the experiment: 30 guinea pigs for each group; in addition, 10 animals were sexed (20 males and 10 females) and 10 animals were placed for each cement pool the treatments are T0: (forage), T1: (forage + mineral block 10%), T2: (forage + mineral block 20%) . For this purpose, a sample of 90 guinea pigs of 30 days of age was considered to be provided with the diet based on the treatments indicated for 7 weeks. The weights reached by the guinea pigs at the end of the experiment were significantly higher than those of the witness group, in males T1 was the most effective followed by females those of T2. With regard to weight gain the best result was presented by the T1 treatment for male guinea pigs with an average of 8.74 g, while in the case of females T2 8.74 equally effective. The food consumption of the male guinea pigs of T1 was the most consuming, and of the females was T2. In terms of food conversion all treatments incorporating mineral blocks were significantly better than the witness and the like among them, the best result was presented by T1 with an average of 7.77. Regarding the benefit-to-cost ratio of the implementation of mineral block treatments, it is established that t2 and t1 treatments are most useful
