| Shrnutí: | The present research project was made in the Municipal Slaughterhouse of Salcedo City in Cotopaxi province, which aimed to determine the gastrointestinal tract parasites' prevalence of Creole pigs. Determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites, prepare epidemiological parasitic maps associated with them and propose a preventive action plan according with the prevalence. The stool analysis was made in Technical University of Cotopaxi Veterinary Medicine Career Parasitology Laboratory in November 2020 - March 2021 academic period. The diagnostic technique used for this project was the flotation test with saline solution (Sucrose), for which 100 animals were sampled between males and females that were in the slaughter process, from which a sample of feces was directly took from the Animal's rectum using an individual latex glove for each specimen previously moistened, introducing two fingers into the rectum of the pig and carefully proceed to take a three to six grams sample, that was placed in the stool sampling bottle, labeled it the sample number, the brand of the pig, and the sex. The samples were placed in a cooler to be transported to the Technical University of Cotopaxi Veterinary Medicine Career Parasitology laboratory, to the Coprological analysis - Helminth-Ovoscopic Method of Concentration. It was observed the following things; The gastrointestinal parasite with the highest prevalence in the animals sampled was the Hyostrongylus with 28% of the total sample, this means that of the 100 animals sampled, 28 of them were positive, followed by Ascaris suum with 21%, Globocephalus spp with 9 %, Macracanthorhynchus with 3% and lastly Trichuris suis with 2%. It was observed that the majority sampled animals in Salcedo slaughterhouse belonged to the parish of San Miguel with 15%, followed by Mulliquindil with 9%, Antonio Jose Holguín 8%, Cusubamba with 7%, Mulalillo and Panzaleo with 3% and Cumbijin with 1%. |
