סיכום:This research was carried out with the objective of determining the water quality of the Pumacunchi river by means of bioindicators, because the communities of aquatic macro invertebrates have a degree of tolerance to physical and chemical factors that affect the bodies of water, for which three points of study were delimited and geo referenced (Los Ilinizas, Guaytacama and San Rafael). For the sampling of bioindicators it was monitored for three consecutive months (October, November and December) where 2,315 individuals of aquatic macro invertebrates distributed in 15 families were identified, while to determine the water quality index (ICA NSF) a Physical - Chemical and Microbiological analysis was performed in September and January. Biological Indices: BMWP / col, ABI, EPT and SHANNON - WEAVER Biodiversity Index were the methodologies applied, the EPT index showed that water quality is Moderately Contaminated at points one and two corresponding to Los Ilinizas and Guaytacama (November), according to the BMWP / col and ABI indices, the quality ranges from Regular (Los Ilinizas) to So Contaminated – The Worst (Guaytacama and San Rafael), the SHANNON - WEAVER index showed that there is a Normal biodiversity. The water quality according to the 9 parameters evaluated by the ICA NSF determined that the water in the three study points is Regular since it is in the range of 51-70, while in comparison with the TULSMA Book VI, Annex I ; Table 6. Eligible quality criteria for agricultural waters, the fecal coliform parameter exceeds the maximum permissible limits.
