“Determinación de la calidad y fragilidad visual de los componentes de las unidades del paisaje de la cascada de la comuna el guadual de la Parroquia Pucayacu, Provincia de Cotopaxi propuesta de conservación, 2023”

The research was developed with the aim by determining the components quality and visual fragility from subtropical humid forest landscape units, from El Guadual commune, located in the Cotopaxi province. Its aims were to establish the current diagnosis, analyze the quality and visual fragility the components from landscape units and develop a conservation proposal for it. The methodology was based on the landscape units identification, through the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) method for determination visual quality, visual absorption quality (CAV) and fragility and visual sensitivity from landscape. It is established qualitative approach based on the photographs analysis from study area. It was made field visits to define seven landscape units (agriculture, livestock, populated areas, water, slopes, vegetation cover and forested areas) and as a result, it was got, what the Subtropical Humid Forest has a class A high visual quality, where the area presents unique and extraordinary characteristics with an average 21.3, the visual absorption capacity is from class II, which presents the landscape fragility with an average 30.7 and class II fragility with an average of 23.3, that is, the landscape has moderate fragility. It is concluded, what there is a need by making conservation and landscape management activities, so it is necessary to establish a conservation, regeneration and restoration plan from area, in order to keep the eco-systemic balance said area.
