Streszczenie:The purpose of this research study was to design and implement a prototype LAN network that complies with some of the GPON standards, structured cabling regulations and link protocols which will be selected, after having made a literature review of the principal concepts as well as its characteristics and application environment. In the development of the research study, the methodology of design and development of Top Down networks was applied. It is divided in four phases, each one of them fulfills a specific function in order for this study to be made with normality and efficacy, some of the principal characteristics analyzed were the current state of the network and the technology with which the TELECOMPU MEGA IMFORMATICOS Company is provided with internet, describe the limitations of the project execution. The logical and physical design of the prototype network was performed. In addition to running the respective connection tests, a test pilot with two computers was also developed by applying a mixed connection topology that has structured cabling regulations and the application of the FTTH (Fiber To The Home) standard, without detracting from the fact that logical design is elaborated in the GNS3 network simulation platform, achieving a well-structured network model. Finally, as a result of the proposed methodology, a design was obtained according to the needs of the company after having made the network testing tests and comparisons between both GPON and XDSL technologies.
