| description | The purpose of this study was to propose the use of a manual for works at low temperatures (cold) in APRODEMAG. In order to guarantee the development of the manual; the thermal conditions to which the workers are exposed were previously evaluated during their normal working hours, and this was compared with the workload table of Executive Decree 2393, heat stress by heat, to know the TGBH index, a measurement instrument was used. Through it the values obtained did not exceed those established in the chart. However, the risks that exist due to exposure to low temperatures are latent, such as the lack of acclimatization, age, gender and use of PPE suitable for cold environments which should be controlled immediately. In addition, the initial situation of the company was analyzed through the support of the minimum plan for prevention of occupational risks and the requirements of Good Preventive Practices. Based on the initial situation of the company a 56% complies with the stipulated in the official register, 39% does not comply and finally 5% does not apply. With this data the proposal of improvement regarding the implementation of the manual was elaborated. The study was proposed as a non-experimental research and a field modality was adopted by applying a literature review according to the needs of the company, where it was possible to identify the risks that may exist. Therefore, the preventive and corrective measures along the productive process were established |

Para asegurar el desarrollo del manual; previamente se evaluó las condiciones térmicas a las que los trabajadores están expuestas durante su jornada habitual de trabajo, y esta comparada con la tabla de carga de trabajo del Decreto Ejecutivo 2393, estrés térmico por calor, para conocer el índice TGBH se utilizó un instrumento de medición de estrés térmico donde los valores obtenidos no superaron los establecidos en dicha tabla, no obstante, los riesgos que existen por la exposición a temperaturas bajas son latentes, como la falta de aclimatación, edad, género y uso de EPP adecuados para ambientes fríos y se deben controlar de manera inmediata, también se analizó la situación inicial de la empresa mediante el apoyo del plan mínimo de prevención de riesgos laborales y los requerimientos de Buenas Prácticas de Preventivas. Enfocado a evaluar la situación inicial de la empresa se obtuvo como resultado que el 56% cumple con lo estipulado en el registro oficial, un 39% no cumple y finalmente un 5% no aplica, así con dichos datos se elaboró la propuesta de mejora para la implementación del manual. El estudio propuesto se plantea como una investigación no experimental y se adopta una modalidad de campo, aplicando herramientas de revisión documental de acuerdo a las necesidades de la empresa, donde se logra identificar los riesgos que puede existir, por lo tanto, se establecieron las medidas preventivas, correctivas, a lo largo del proceso productivo.Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC).Salazar, Edison, Ing.
