Sammanfattning:The research project was carried in "Las Lomas" state, which is located in the province of Cotopaxi, Latacunga Canton, in the Tanicuchi parish, it was studied with the purpose of evaluating an IATF protocol (Artificial Insemination to Fixed Time) with progestogens and eCG (Equine Chorionic Gonadotropin) before the implant removal in cattle to increase the pregnancy rate in Holstein cows in a short time and to know how these hormones act within their organism. 27 cows were used, subjected to the same management system and with similar body condition and approximately the same age. The protocol was carried out as follows: Day 0 was applied to all animals under treatment 0.25 cc of Estradiol Benzoate and the implant was placed (CIDR); On day 7th, we proceeded to the administration of 200UI of eCG; day 8th was removed from the device and 0.4 cc of Estrumate was applied; On day 10th, the records were reviewed and insemination was performed on each one of the heifers knowing the time at which the implant was removed. Finally, on the 45th day after the completion of the treatment, a gynecological check-up was performed on all the cows to know the presence or absence of pregnancy. The characteristics of the animals showing estrus, the pregnancy and the return of the estrous cycle were evaluated. It was verified that 20 pregnant cows existed as a result of the treatment group, 7 who returned to heat after the AI of a total of 27 after the application of the hormone eCG. In the cost-benefit analysis, the economic viability of the treatment was determined since only 26% of animals that did not reach their pregnant phase.
