Necroturismo como alternativa de experiencias turísticas en el cantón Latacunga, provincia de Cotopaxi

The offer of tourist activity in the Latacunga canton is focuses more on gastronomic, cultural and adventure tourism; For the fulfillment of this research project called necrotourism as an alternative in tourist experiences in the Latacunga canton, province of Cotopaxi, a diagnostic investigation was carried out which allowed us to learn about the problems with respect to the situation of the Latacunga canton with a qualitative approach. We worked with three objectives, the first to diagnose the current situation of the Latacunga canton focused on historical and architectural sites where necrotourism can be carried out, through bibliographic reviews such as thesis, scientific articles, PDOT, inventory of tourist attractions of the MINTUR, the last being a helps to visualize information on potential attractions with conditions related to necrotourism taking into account compliance with hierarchical characteristics I and II in the same way for historical and cultural value, these being: The general cemetery of Latacunga, Vicente León park, the ancient Latacunga prison and the Latacunga national funeral home, with a total of 4 tourist attractions associated with necrotourism, a formal interview was carried out with the actors involved to obtain detailed information and the infrastructure of the sites. For the second objective, a market study was carried out through a survey of the people of the canton to identify the characteristics, tastes and preferences they have, but for this infinite population sampling was used, thus concluding with a total of 237 surveys. After the survey, the tabulation of the data previously obtained through the survey was applied, allowing the results of the information to be measured through the graphs and the analysis and interpretation that were divided into five study variables such as demographic information, knowledge about necrotourism. , infrastructure and services, interest in necrotourism and promotion and communication which were reflected in the questionnaire functioning as a data collection instrument that consisted of 14 closed questions, thus revealing the expected results, the characterization of the tourist profile of So it shows that 56% of respondents are young people between 18 and 24 years old and 62% of respondents are residents of the canton. On the other hand, for the third objective, a route was designed through the SENA methodology, which helped to structure the satisfactory route. It consists of 4 attractions over a distance of 1.63 km with a duration of 2 hours. It is suggested that the tour be done at night for a better experience. In conclusion, it is necessary to know the profile of the tourist, the sites focused on necrotourism so that the route can be used within the city, thus providing new experiences to national and foreign tourists.
