Summary:Recreational activities are the main child’s occupation, as well as a very important role because through it can be stimulated and acquired a better development in different areas such as psychomotor, cognitive, and social-emotional. In the area of Physical Education the ludic or recreational activities fulfill this particular requirement perfectly. It means the development of children’s’ motor functions such as walking, running, jumping, throwing, flexing and extending their arms and legs and this way it contributes to the development of the human body through play. Therefore, the guidebook with recreational activities is an indispensable tool for the children and their integral education. This study was made at “Juan Manuel Lasso” elementary school located in Cotopaxi Province where a series of physical deficiencies which affect to the second and third graders. This study is descriptive – experimental and the techniques used were the survey and the observation sheet which let get required data for its analysis. With this proposal, basic motor functions such as coordination, flexibility, speed, endurance, strength, balance, etc., were developed especially in improving the educational process in the Physical Education.
