Aviturismo como aporte al desarrollo turístico sostenible en sector de La Cuchilla de Ñungañan cantón Pujilí, Provincia de Cotopaxi.

The deficient development of avitourism in El Tingo La Esperanza village motivated a study of birds in the sector of “Cuchilla de Ñungañan” influencing the sustainable tourism development of this place since it is part of the Western Cordillera of the Andes with the presence of several ecological niches that become habitat of different species. As for the methodology, research instruments such as the survey technique applied to 62 people who determined the feasibility of avitourism development, as well as 8 field outings were performed obtaining results in the ornithological inventory carried out in zones A and B determining 64 species, which were monitored and recorded with the line path methodology and observation technique. Aspects such as: endemism, abundance, residence and threat were evaluated; thus have been recorded 3 species of endemic birds representing 5% of all species, 66% of the species recorded are common according to the category of abundance, from the 3 migratory species reported two are boreal migratory and 1 southern migratory, 60 out of 65 species registered here are in the category of minor concern (LC) according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The results of this study produced a bird guide containing: description of the place and the general list detailing aspects such as: order, family, common name, name in English, scientific name and relevant data with their corresponding photograph of each species that subsequently with the replication and application of the guide will motivate the population to socio-economic-environmental alternatives in the field of avitourism in order to promote and develop sustainability in the sector.
