Riassunto:The objective of the research is to design an agrotourism route within the province of Tungurahua, in the area of influence of the PACAT organization; due to the fact that the organization provides the service of visits and tours to production sites of its partners; without technical considerations or marketing processes, hence the need to generate this proposal. In its development, the provisions of the Manual for the Generation of Tourist Routes and Itineraries MINTURwere considered. Initially, information was obtained on the attractions, tourist facilities and complementary services in the province of Tungurahua; obtaining a total of 157 attractions, and registering a new attraction (Cerro Tzunantza). A total 536 lodging and food establishments were identified, and 246 complementary services (tourist guide and transportation). A checklist was designed in order to determine attractions, services and conditions of the areas surrounding the location of the partners, 55 partners were considered to be active out of a total of 134; Obtaining ten nearby attractions to be considered on the route that is in the cantons Ambato, Píllaro, Tisaleo and Pelileo. Subsequently, an analysis of the potential demand was conducted, interviewing 8 people from the organization using the snowball methodology, establishing that those who made the tours were producers from other localities, consumers of the products marketed in Plaza Pachano; and the interest in involving third level students related to agricultural and livestock production. A survey was applied to determine the tastes and preferences when visiting and to determine the profile of visitors, which include producers and the general public known as national tourists, whose motivation is to learn about the production and processing of agroecological products as well as recreational activities; students, whose motivation is to acquire knowledge about agroecological and sustainable production. Three routes were designed based on the profiles. The route for agro-producers includes visits to 6 production sites and 4 nearby attractions, with a duration of 2 days – 1 night. The second route focused on students lasts 3 days – 2 nights, visits 6 production sites and 3 attractionswith activities such as paragliding, hiking, camping among the main ones. A full day was designed with 1 attraction and 3 production sites. Costs vary according to the number of people estimated for each route. Finally, the route’s Governance Manual was designed, which serves for the operation of the route and contains information that will be delivered to the PACAT authorities. PACAT authorities, as well as a brochure with the most important information about the route to be handed out to tourists and visitors. It can be concluded that tourism in the area can be focused oneducation combined with recreational activities and can be differentiated from the segments according to their motivations; it is recommended that a marketing and commercialization plan be developed for the route so that it can be properly operated and managed.
