Description
Summary:Music as a methodological strategy in the teaching-learning process is not widely used by teachers, causing students not to develop significant learning. Through educational practice, the inadequate use of children's songs during class hours was evidenced, which led us to the approach of this research. The objective of this study is to propose the use of music as a methodological strategy through a booklet of songs to strengthen the teaching-learning process in the fifth grade of the Cotopaxi Province Educational Unit of the Pujilí canton in the school year 2022 - 2023. A qualitative approach was used, in which the behavior of a social phenomenon is described, applying the interview as a technique for collecting information, which was applied to the teacher and the president of the grade. By means of the instruments applied, the limited use of music and the inadequate handling of songs in the classroom by the teacher were evidenced. Through the instruments applied, the limited use of music and the inadequate management of songs in the classroom by the teacher were evidenced. Based on the information obtained, a musical booklet was developed that will allow the teacher and the student to dynamize and strengthen the teaching-learning process, fostering meaningful learning and integral development in the students. It is concluded that the application of songs as a methodological strategy in the classroom favors significant learning in students, strengthening the teaching-learning process. The use of music, especially songs, is considered an appropriate resource for long-lasting learning, since, through the combination of rhythms, stanzas and repetitions, it allows students to assimilate new information in a better way. This research will serve as a support for students of different careers to deepen about this topic and to take into account the inclusion of music in the educational curriculum of the different educational centers of the country.
