Beskrivelse
Summary:The purpose of this research was to study alkaline soils at the Technical University of Cotopaxi, Salache sector, with a height of 2800 meters above sea level. In a sandy loam soil with a pH of 10.14, the pH was evaluated in alkaline soils using three chemical amendments in the beet crop (Beta vulgaris L.var. Conditiva) Salache sector, Latacunga Canton, Cotopaxi Province 2019. Three pH amendments (sulfur, urea, ammonium sulfate) were applied, with a randomized complete block experimental design in 3X3 + 1 factorial arrangement with 3 repetitions. In the final soil analysis the chemical amendment located in the first range of significance is sulfur, with a pH of 10.14 at the beginning and at the end pH of 9.43. The results achieved in the percentage of yield and plants adapted in the chemical amendment with sulfur average 79.84%. The chemical amendments used in each of the data collection periods, resulting in sulfur being the best average at 30, 45, 60 and 75 days, at plant height with 21.1; 21.88; 24.07; 25.99; number of sheets 2.90; 3.13; 3.35; 5.37; T2 treatment (Urea + 800 kg / ha) with an average of 88.92 mm of diameter of the tuber the first range. The cost analysis, the best treatment specifically T2 (urea with a dose of 800 ha / kg) obtained the highest cost-benefit ratio, that is to say that for every dollar invested it is recovered with a beneficial cost of 1.47. Therefore, it is recommended to use the sulfur chemical amendment to lower the pH.
