El Inglés con propósitos específicos y la planificación por competencias en la Carrera de Informática del Instituto Tecnológico "Victoria Vásconez Cuvi" en el año 2012. Propuesta de un Manual de Inglés Técnico para la Carrera.

This research aims to identify how planning competency impacts the development of English for specific purposes in the Instituto Tecnológico "Victoria Vàsconez Cuvi" in the city of Latacunga during the 2012-2013 school year. This research project used the feasible project structure to develop a hypothesis. It also was based on applied investigation techniques because it used knowledge of basic investigation to solve problems. It was a scientific investigation because a theoretical scientific process was used to discover the need for technical English in the high school focus of computer science. The investigation level was “Exploratory and Descriptive” because the depth of the research. According to the results obtained by the investigation, authorities, teachers, and students agree that English should be taught based on specific competences. A technical English manual would improve the teaching and learning process. In my opinion the Technical Institute “Victoria Vàsconez Cuvi” should format English material with specific goals: the students should know specialty-focused vocabulary, the planning should occur based on specific workforce competences. Additionally, the technical English manual should be used to help the teaching and learning process.
