Zusammenfassung:To improve energy efficiency the first step is always to measure. An energy audit allows to know the current situation, data on consumption, energy costs, in addition to reduce energy consumption and identify the areas that allow a potential energy saving. The research is divided into 4 Chapters, the first is the state of art of the electrical parameters for the simulation of electrical consumption and the methods of optimization of energy, Chapter II addresses the research methodology by determining the tools with which will perform the research work and the sample for surveys in the laboratory of mechanical industry, in III, the results of the data obtained will be presented and the IV is the proposal of an improvement plan to reduce losses and improve quality of electric power. The results of the measurements showed that in the main board the quality of the energy was adequate, there being some voltage variations in the lines that feed the equipment, an acceptable power factor of 0.92, in turn the load of the transformer was at the limit of its capacity with a value of 93.4%, with the laboratory being 33.71% of the load of the transformer. The actions proposed in the improvement plan, such as balancing laboratory loads, making the circuit independent with a new transformer and replacing the luminaires, will reduce losses and improve the quality of energy.
