| Čoahkkáigeassu: | n the country, water contamination with mercury is one of the most common problems where adequate treatment for wastewater is not carried out. For which the production of biochar was carried out within the laboratories at the Technical University of Cotopaxi, Salache campus. With the main objective of determining an adequate and effective treatment with the implementation of biochar from solid organic material from the wholesale market located in the province of Cotopaxi, Latacunga canton, San Felipe sector with a latitude of -0.915448° and a longitude of -78.628299 °, for the recovery of water contaminated with Mercury. To obtain the organic solid waste called biomass, direct collection was carried out from the wholesale market, followed by its adequate conditioning of natural drying in a period of 20 days where it was left in the sun spread on a 2m x 2m plastic sheet. well distributed in places with humidity and avoid rot. and its adequate preservation under normal conditions. Having defined the composition of the biomass, pyrolysis was applied at temperatures of 300°C, 350°C and 400°C with a time interval of 30 minutes and with a cooling period of 24 hours, it was removed and its analysis was carried out. characterization. To determine the performance of biochar in the elimination of mercury from water, an experimental design was applied based on the null and alternative hypothesis, taking into account the factors of weight, temperature, and the type of filtration treatment with a number of 5 repetitions taking into account in total 750 values. With the application of frequency tables between the interactions of the factors with a categorical result of whether it works or not, and thus determine the best treatment. The results obtained from the production of biochar produced at 400°C is 651.02g, at 350°C it is 579.08g and at 300°C it is 613.324g. |
