| Summary: | This research was conducted in the parishes of Guangaje located at 3,796 meters above sea level, Zumbahua located at 3,592 meters above sea level, and Saquisilí located at 3,469 meters above sea level. Belonging to the province of Cotopaxi, where the quality of the wool from the Marin Magellan Meat Merino (4M) sheep was evaluated, using the FibreLux equipment, developed specifically to measure the average diameter of the fiber, the sample was taken from 60 sheep among males and females in the adult and young stages for the study, The wool samples were characterized and compared by applying the quantitative and qualitative descriptive statistical method with the analysis of variance DCA, obtaining the following results, mean fineness of community 1(Guangaje) 21.95±0.65um, community 2 (Zumbahua) 20.6±0.54um and community 3 (Saquisilí) 22.38±0.5um; Length of wick, average of community (1) 75.5±4.51 mm, community (2) 59.25±3.89mm, community (3) 67.25±4.68mm; the average of Crimpness or undulations is of community (1) 4.5±0.39, community (2) 5.1±0.51, community (3) 4.1±0.22; there is statistical difference according to value p in length of wick <0.0386. For qualitative lanimetric variables: Density has a community average (1) 2.7±0.13 community (2) 2.05±0.15, community (3) 2.42±0.13; Point of rupture (POB); a community average (1) 1.46±0.14, community (2) 1.55±0.14, community (3) 1.6±0.13 is established; Resistance with a community average (1) 1,98±0,17, community (2) 1,95±0,17, community (3) 2,4±0,13; Fat with a community average (1) 2,19±0,2, community (2) 1,95±0,17, community (3) 2,15±0,18, with a statistical difference according to p-value in density <0,0046. The statistical difference or variability evidenced it referred to as the environment in which the 4M sheep were found in the country. |
