description The present research project was carried out in the canton Latacunga, parish Eloy Alfaro, Salache Bajo neighborhood, at the Technical University of Cotopaxi, Agroindustrial Engineering, in the agave research laboratory. Contributing with further investigation to the project of physical-chemical characterization of agave for agro-industrial purposes in the canton Latacunga; The main objective of the research project was to elaborate a natural shampoo based on saponins extracted from the rhizomes and leaves of the black agave (Agave americana), using the Soxhlet method using ethanol as solvent with the addition of two types of extracts one of Chamomile (chamaemelum nobile) and one of roses (pink), and two types of dyes an artificial and a natural; Which was obtained by maceration of ñachag roses. The methodology applied in the development of the research was: experimental, exploratory and descriptive research; Inductive, deductive and analytical methods; Observation and survey techniques. The presence of saponins was determined by the foam test resulting in treatment 5 (a2b1c1); (50% rhizome - 50% leaf, chamomile extract, artificial coloring); As well as pH and viscosity tests, resulting in the treatment. With the saponins extracted from both rhizomes and leaves of the agave, the shampoo was produced, which presented a good acceptability, this acceptance was determined by means of sensorial analysis verified with a survey carried out To the students of 8th cycle. A proximal analysis established by the Ecuadorian technical standard INEN 842 of tenso-active agents, shampoo requirements to make a comparison with the obtained results was also carried out.

A proximal analysis established by the Ecuadorian technical standard INEN 842 of tenso-active agents, shampoo requirements to make a comparison with the obtained results was also carried out.El presente proyecto de investigación se realizó en el cantón Latacunga, parroquia Eloy Alfaro, barrio Salache Bajo, en la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi, carrera de Ingeniería Agroindustrial, en el laboratorio de investigación de agave. aportando con una investigación más al proyecto de caracterización físico-química del agave con fines agroindustriales en el cantón Latacunga; el objetivo principal del proyecto de investigación fue elaborar un shampoo natural a base de saponinas extraídas de los rizomas y hojas del agave negro (agave americana), mediante el método de Soxhlet utilizando el etanol como solvente con la adición de dos tipos de extractos, uno de manzanilla (chamaemelum nobile) y uno de rosas (rosa), y dos tipos de colorantes un artificial y un natural; que se obtuvo mediante maceración de las rosas ñachag. La metodología aplicada en el desarrollo de la investigación fue: la investigación experimental, exploratoria y descriptiva; los métodos inductivo, deductivo y analítico; las técnicas de observación y encuesta. Se determinó la presencia de saponinas mediante la prueba de espuma dando como resultado el tratamiento 5 (a2b1c1); (50% rizoma – 50% hoja; extracto de manzanilla; colorante artificial); así mismo se realizó pruebas de pH, y viscosidad en el laboratorio de análisis LABOLAB dando como resultado el tratamiento 5 con un pH de 4.58 demostrando que se encuentra dentro de la norma INEN para la elaboración de un shampoo. Con las saponinas extraídas tanto de rizomas y hojas del agave se elaboró el shampoo que presentó una buena aceptabilidad, esta aceptación se determinó mediante análisis sensoriales comprobada con una encuesta realizada a los estudiantes de octavo ciclo.
