| Shrnutí: | Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease that causes productive losses in the livestock sector, it is caused by Brucella abortus and mainly affects bovine females, causing infectious abortions and infertility. The main objective of the following investigation was to diagnose Bovine Brucellosis through the use of the Biopanda Test and competitive Elisa tests at the Empresa Publica Metropolitana de Rastro Quito, where blood samples were taken from 64 females between 3 and 5 years of age during the study. Veterinary controlAnte Mortem in the Slaughtering Center, all the samples were analyzed in the Biopandarapid tests as a sieve test, the blood sample was placed on each test and after 10 minutesthe results were obtained, and as a confirmatory test to all the Positive results were carried out Competitive ELISA, these tests were carried out in the VeteLAB laboratoryin the city of Machachi. The results obtained indicated 5 positive animals using the Biopanda test, while with the competitive Elisa confirmation test no positive animal wasreported. When comparing the prevalence values, the results were 7.8 and 0%, respectively, and in terms of sensitivity and specificity, 100% and 95.1% were obtainedforthe Biopanda Test. In relation to the cost of both tests, it was decided that competitive Elisa is more beneficial economically and in terms of diagnosis with a cost per test of $8.72. In relation to the above, it was determined that the Biopanda test is not a fast or reliable diagnostic method. |
