סיכום:The study of the perception and knowledge on environmental and climate change issues arises as a necessity in view of the harmful environmental effects that have become present in the Belisario Quevedo parish, due to the different anthropic activities, and the indisputable existence of climate change. The purpose of the research was to determine the level of understanding of the inhabitants of the sector, through the application of a qualitative and quantitative analysis, and with the help of key tools such as observation and direct application of surveys. For this purpose, an analysis of their criteria, changes and environmental practices was carried out, which will allow proposing environmental education strategies to enrich the knowledge of the inhabitants. The sample size was 366 surveys composed of a total of 30 questions, developed through the KoboToolbox software. In addition, the information obtained was represented by statistical graphs generated in Excel, based on two important demographic variables: age and educational level of the inhabitants. In general, a higher level of knowledge on environmental issues was determined, in contrast to the questions on climate change. Taking the age range as a reference, the highest percentages (76.4% and 62.2%) were found among people between 13 and 20 years of age for both topics, while the lowest percentages (62.1% and 47.0%) were represented by people over 60 years of age. Likewise, within the educational level, the third level (higher education) stood out with 79.2% and 64.0% in the two classifications; in contrast to the respondents belonging to the "without studies" stratum, where 63.5% and 50.6% respectively were reflected. Thus, these findings turned out to be substantial for the design of an educational strategy aimed at the sectors with the greatest tendency and vulnerability to learning, children and the elderly. Thus, it was concluded that a considerable percentage of the population does not know about environmental and climate change issues, so identifying the main existing strengths and weaknesses was key in the development of the environmental education proposal for the Belisario Quevedo parish, always maintaining a focus on sustainable development.
