الملخص: | The present research work was carried out in the province of Tungurahua, Ambato city, Pillaro Canton, San miguelito Parish, San Juan neighborhood of the Veterinary Medicine career, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, under con geographical coordinates 1.1666667 "S of latitude, 78 ° 53'33." W of longitude and 2855 meters of altitude, for this investigation 100 chickens of the Cobb 500 line of one day of age were used and it was continued until day 49 of age , to evaluate the effect of three levels (5, 10 and 15%) of cooked potato (Solanum tuberosum) in the feeding of broilers during the growth and finishing phase in Barrio San Juan. The birds were assigned to 4 dietary treatments; T0- (control treatment - Base diet), T1 - (Base Diet + 5% inclusion of cooked potato), T2 - (Base Diet + 10% inclusion of cooked potato) and T3 - (Base Diet + 15% inclusion Cooked Potato) A Completely Random Pattern (DCA) is applied with five repetitions for each treatment. The experimental units were homogeneous (CV: 6.76%), considering different sources of variability. Analysis of variance was carried out, with Duncan's significance tests at 5%, to differentiate between treatments. The economic analysis was carried out by calculating the benefit / cost ratio (RBC). The best results were obtained when using the diet with 15% inclusion of cooked potato (T3) with a greater gain in weight, both in the growth stage (2.30 kg) and in the fattening stage (3 , 82 kg), being the feeding of the birds in the fattening stages the most suitable, due to its high content of carbohydrates which favors the conversion of this into energy. Regarding food consumption, it is concluded that the highest is 0.86 g for T3 and the lowest is for T0 with the amount of 0.84 kg. |
