| Περίληψη: | The purpose of this researching was to develop a series of modules to be applied in textile products taking as a point of inspiration the clothing of Chola Latacungueña directed to Latacungueña women. The needs to revalue the identity of the city through a communicational, non-conventional means will regenerate their customs and traditions inside and outside the locality, according to Duque (2013) in recent years due to globalization and the launch of foreign products, people acquire these goods leaving aside local production, as well as the migration of the urban sector as rural that has traveled to other countries, changing their culture and adopting to it, when returning they bring with them foreign cultural characters, which produces a lack of information ignoring the variety and the visual signs that exist in the clothes of Chola Latacungueña, generating the inexperience between the inhabitants and the renting premises. Therefore, the objective of the research was to design iconographic modules to be applied to textile products, thus allowing for the dissemination of visual elements among the population for the conservation of their cultural roots. The methodology used was the combination of field study and observation, starting with a mapping to identify the rental shops in Latacunga city, giving way to a morphological analysis with the respective photographic documentation of the clothes that were purchased, followed by interviews with historians involved in the subject to learn about the history of this clothing within the festivities of the Mama Negra, interviews were also conducted with craftsmen who make these garments to learn about the process they go through and the experience they have with visual signs, in order to deepen the field study. The methodology of designer and illustrator Laura Varsky (2018) was also used to develop the project for the process of creating repetition patterns. As a result, a series of designs of patterns and x structures were elaborated that call the attention, applied in textile products in which the extracted icons are reflected, encouraging the citizens to conserve the wealth that Latacunga city keeps. In conclusion the iconographic study of the visual elements present in the clothes of Chola Latacungueña will help to the cultural identity and fomentation of the same locality so that the new generations know and value, getting involved in the cultural patrimony to generate innovative proposals, fusing the ancestral thing with the present thing, in such a way the traditions and customs are conserved, being thus presented to the society. |
