| Summary: | This present project of researching had as objective to create a Descriptive Guide of birds of Colta´s Lagoon, through of methodology application, register techniques and birdlife monitoring that are in the area. For it´s realized activities as; situational diagnostic with bibliographic investigation getting some components; socio-cultural of Santiago de Quito parish with the results, there are a total of 5.668 habitants and 96% of parish population that doesn’t have access to drinking water. The population economy comes from Products Commercialization like; quinoa, Habbas, cebada as main source of income. within the biophysical the territory presents erosion and loss of vegetation cover due to agricultural exploitation and cattle grazing and tourism infrastructure in the lagoon. Then the presence of aquatic vegetation such as the totorales, tourist facilities and the water mirror where you can observe birds, technical aspects considered to carry out the zoning of the study area, determined three zones as they are; zone 1 scenic pier (Z1) that was also divided into two monitoring points (P1, P2), zone 2 the water mirror (Z2) which was not divided and zone 3 of the reeds (Z3) that also it was divided into two monitoring points (P1, P2). To carry out the bird registration, point counting, linear transects and intensive search were used as registration techniques, obtaining the following results: 20 species of birds, 13 families and 143 individuals, the Anatidae and Tyrannidae families being the most abundant. In the established zones, a comparison was made using the Sorensen table, where the similarity between Zone 1 and Zone 2 was 31.57% of species seen, between Zone 2 and Zone 3, 73.33% similarity, between Zone 1 and Zone 3 48.00% similarity. While the Margelef index ponders that the entire Colta lagoon includes 4.34% in biodiversity, this score helped to understand that the study area has good diversity. Once the information had been systematized, the birdlife guide was prepared using the Canva design program, each of the registered species contains a taxonomic card with information that will help with the recognition and identification of birds in the field. This birdlife guide contains 27 pages in which you can find photographs of a measure of (2.8 x 4.2 cm) that could be evidenced in the study area, with this result it is desired to contribute to the conservation of this resource by have a material that will support the decision-making of those involved in the development of tourism by knowing the registered birds and the opportunity to use this resource responsibly. |
