description This research refered to the characterization and evaluation of PM10 and PM2.5 particulate matter emissions, from the study area, carried out in two points of the Lasso sector, where the presence of industries such as Parmalat and Grupo Familia stand out, as well as the presence of vehicular mobility. The study area was characterized by determining two monitoring points based on the methodology established in the current environmental regulations binding on air quality, continuous monitoring of the concentration of PM10 and PM2.5 was carried out with the support of the E- team. BAM, taking into account the methodology of the EPA, after the monitoring carried out, a database was prepared with the results obtained to be compared with current environmental regulations and thus propose strategic mitigation measures on particulate matter. At monitoring point one, located at Lasso Station, a concentration value of particulate material was determined during the 24 hours of monitoring, two peak hours of PM10 and PM 2.5 were established; with a value of 69 ug / m3 of PM2.5 at 6:00 p.m. on the first day and a value of 56 ug / m3 of PM10 at 5:00 p.m. on the second day. At monitoring point two, (Family Group) a value of 24 ug / m3 of PM2.5 was determined at 08h00 on the third day and a value of 55 ug / m3 of PM10 at 11h00 on the fourth day which were the hours peak of continuous monitoring, comparing with the concentrations of the alert, alarm and emergency levels of the current environmental regulations of Book VI of Annex 4 Air Quality of the Unified Text of the Secondary Legislation of the Ministry of Environment (TULSMA) are within the alert level of peak hours. In addition, the averages of the two PM2.5 monitoring points of the Lasso Station with a value of 14.75 ug / m3 and with Grupo Familia with a value of 9.29 ug / m3 and for PM 10 were made at Lasso Station with a value of 22,792ug / m3, and at point two, next to the Family Group with a value of 13,875 ug / m3, the averages obtained were compared with current environmental regulations, which are PM10 of 100ug / m3 and PM2.5 of 50ug / m3, determines that they are within the maximum permissible limits. However, due to the increasing industrialization and the increase of the automotive fleet at the cantonal level, preventive environmental measures are proposed to be carried out in the study área.

However, due to the increasing industrialization and the increase of the automotive fleet at the cantonal level, preventive environmental measures are proposed to be carried out in the study área.
