| Gaia: | The present investigation had the purpose of determining the prevalence of Brucella canis and associated factors, in the Macaló Grande, Macaló Chico and San Ramón neighborhoods; for which blood samples were taken from 75 dogs, the same ones that underwent the Rapid Test Kit diagnostic test for Brucella canis. To establish the associated factors, surveys and clinical files were carried out, with data provided by the dog owners. The results obtained from the analysis of the Rapid Test Kit examinations in the blood samples, conclude that in the neighborhoods Macaló grande, Macaló chico and San Ramón there is no prevalence of B. canis. Regarding the most important associated factors in relation to age, 97% of canines from 1 to 12 months do not consume dead animals, 97% remain in the patio of the house and 100% have a space; in relation to the sex of both females and males, 93 and 87% respectively have not consumed dead animals and 100% have a space. At the end of the investigation, the awareness of the responsible possession of domestic dogs was made through talks and lectures, in the population of the Macaló Grande, Macaló Chico and San Ramón neighborhoods. |
