“La dependencia económica y su repercusión en las víctimas de violencia intrafamiliar”.

Ecuador has joined the prevention and eradication of violence against women, the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador (2008), the declaration of Human Rights, the Belem do Pará Convention (Brazil 1994), the validity of the Law Comprehensive Organization to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women (2018); they define and expose the different types of violence against women; among them, economic violence, which is the source of research into how economic dependence affects and its impact on victims of domestic violence. The investigative development is done from a qualitative approach, that is, we have the experience of the researcher who works and observes the procedures generated in the Domestic Violence Unit based in the Latacunga canton. Given the problem to be investigated, the doctrinal and constitutional sources and legal criteria are important contributions to present a solution to the economic dependence of the victim and its impact on the family environment. We can conclude that it is important to provide a space for socio-legal and economic assistance to the violated woman, and to socialize that one of the measures provides for maintenance that can help her escape from the circle of dependency created; and, a reform of the Law must be agreed, with mandatory education and training programs for violated women.
