Descripció
Sumari:The methodologies are models, frameworks or methods that allow to take the control of the structure of the projects, contains phases, roles and development life cycles allowing to carry out an order and structuring in the realization of a software project estimating the development time, through work methods to meet the specific needs or objectives of project design and development. The main objective of the project was the development of a comparative analysis on the agile methodologies Scrum and XP (Extreme Programming), applied to the design of a multiplatform software for seed species management in the Germplasm Bank of the Technical University of Cotopaxi extension La Maná developed through Open Source information technologies, with the purpose of obtaining the methodology which suits the design and development of the seed management software of the Germplasm Bank that facilitate its ordering, organization, review and estimated development phase according to the functional needs and requests of the client that ask for the software, allowing to calculate the time and cost of a software development project. For the realization of the research project, research methodologies were applied such as: bibliographic research for the development of the technical scientific foundation of the project through the getting of reliable information from scientific journals and books that contribute and support the research topic, in addition also the deductive analytical and hypothetical method was used, for the generation of an analysis of the Scrum and XP methodologies, at the same time a hypothesis was formulated as a possible solution and verification that supports what was investigated and possible solution to the problem of the project. As a result of applying the agile Scrum and XP methodology to software design, it was obtained as a result that the Scrum methodology is much more efficient in short-term software development and implementation projects with the advantage of making future changes during system design. Without affecting the structuring and delivery date of the software, which distinguish from the XP methodology that is more centralized to the design of large-scale projects that entails a high level of data and code structuring.
