Description
Summary:The present research work was carried out in the Anita farm located in the province of Pichincha in the Pedro Vicente Maldonado canton, for this research 100 male Cobb 500 line Broiler´s chickens of one day old were used and it was continued until day 42 of age, to evaluate the effect of three levels (5, 10, 15%) of cassava´s bran in the feeding of broilers during the growth and fattening phase. The birds were assigned to 4 dietary treatments; T0- (control treatment- Base diet), T1 - (Base Diet + 5% of cassava´s bran addition), T2 - (Base Diet + 10% of cassava´s bran addition), T3 - (Base Diet + 15% of cassava´s bran addition). A completely randomized design (DCA) was applied with five repetitions for each treatment. An analysis of variance was carried out, with Duncan's significance tests at 5%, to differentiate between treatments. The economic analysis was performed by calculating the benefit / cost ratio (RBC). The best results were obtained by using a diet with 5% of cassava´s bran addition (T1) with a greater gain in weight of (3,086 kg), being the feeding of the birds in the fattening stages the most appropriate, due to its high carbohydrate content, which favors the conversion of this into energy. Regarding food consumption, it is concluded that the lowest is 3.694 kg for T0 and the highest is for T3 with the amount of 3.97 kg.
