Özet:The project consisted of analyzing the aluminum smelting process using a crucible furnace composed in its three side and an upper wall of materials such as two refractory bricks, one is placed in the inside of the furnace followed by a ceramic blanket and the other brick on the outside, the remaining side wall has the metal gate and the lower wallhouses the charcoal used as a heat source, the thermodynamic analysis was performed so that the aluminum with the crucible need an amount of heat of 7.46 kW, the heat losses by conduction and convection in the refractories and in the metal gate gave a total of 2.54 kW so that an amount of 10 kW was needed to fulfill this process, the charcoal with a capacity to supply 25 kW obtaining a yield of 60%, ANSYS software was used to determine the distribution of temperatures along the refractory, the analysis was given by means of simplification by symmetry, where the values of the internal temperature of the furnace of 1149.1 K and the external temperature of 330.1 K were entered, as well as the thermal conductivity that for the brick is 0.25 W/m. K, for the ceramic blanket, is 0.22 W/m.K. Finally, in the area of the internal brick has a temperature of 1058 K, the ceramic blanket has a range between 694 K to 512 K, and the external brick has a temperature of 400 K.
