总结:The breeding of camelids still has difficulties in their reproduction due to reproductive, anatomical, and physiological characteristics, for this reason, the following research was conducted with the objective of extracting alpaca semen samples from three methods of collection and subsequently assessing the quality of fresh semen and post thawing with the use of cryoprotectant "Triladyl CSS One Step". This research was carried out in the Salache Academic Experimental Center in the Latacunga canton, where the use of 3 previously evaluated male alpacas was estimated; these specimens were isolated and trained to later test them with different collection methods. In the three methods, only one specimen maintained a high libido and interest; in the method with a complete dummy plus an artificial vagina, good results were not obtained at the time of collection due to the shape of the dummy, in the method of dummy with rump plus receptive female, it was not possible to adapt to the shape of the rump and the movements of the female, while in the method of deviation of penis and receptive female, great results were obtained obtaining a sample of 1 ml to 1.5 ml. The sample obtained from fresh semen and semen with post-thawing diluent was evaluated according to macroscopic and microscopic sperm parameters. It showed that fresh semen is the most optimal for artificial insemination, presenting a 60% viability rate, while the sample with a post-thawing extender presented a mortality rate of 25% compared to 14% for fresh semen.
