Description
Summary:The present research project addresses the problem of dysfunctional families, considering that the family is the main nucleus of society and, consequently, it is possible to establish adequate norms for children to educate and behave in a correct way, for himself and with other people in and out of their context. However, in some cases, families have been unable to fulfill these fundamental tasks for the upbringing of their children, therefore, many needs, material and spiritual have not been fully met. The research was carried out in the Unidad Educativa Comandante General "ATAHUALPA" of the canton Quito Parroquia Guamani, in which benefited children, parents, teachers and authorities of the first year of Basic education. The methodology that has been used in research has a mixed approach, a conjunction between bibliographical and field research. This has helped people in the research area to find the negative effects of dysfunctional families on child development. The techniques of the survey, interview and observation have been applied to parents, teachers, authorities and students under study. The contribution of this research at the theoretical level is the presentation of a scientific document, with the contributions of various authors who support the need to pay attention to the characteristics of family life in which students develop, the position that plays a transcendental role not only for learning but for integral development, a practical level research that allows schools and authorities to see that in the classroom there are children with problems of family coexistence, because they live in dysfunctional homes and that is harmful for their weel. As results of the research it has been possible to establish help for dysfunctional families in the institution that have created low self-esteem and problems in the social and emotional development of children.
