Yhteenveto:The present investigative work, it allowed generating new perspectives towards the possibility of performing a national production of wheelchairs that can satisfy the demand. This investigation identified the different materials for building structures, concluding that bamboo offered the right qualities to achieve the desired goals, both in strength, durability, and low cost. The material was studied in its conditions treated and cured respectively for knowing the limits mechanical, previous to an ergonomic design; the new model of wheelchair was built with bamboo structure, taking into account the different needs of a group of people who has to move using this means of transport every day. Finally the financial analysis allowed deducting the most significant costs wheelchair. Data was used to make adjustments to the final costs encouraging that production will be in order to minimize the production cost in order to make it more accessible for people who need this type of support.
