| Streszczenie: | The following research aims to analyze the sustainability and competitiveness of tourist lodging companies in Latacunga canton, Cotopaxi Province, using inferential statistics in order to propose improvement strategies. To start the development of the project, a request was made to obtain the tourism cadastre of the lodging companies of the Latacunga canton, then the study population was obtained and the sample was calculated, resulting in 16 companies to be evaluated with the survey instrument. Then, to evaluate the sustainability variable, the InnovaRSE methodology of the author Navarra was used, which consisted of 10 indicators for each dimension, classified into environmental, social and economic dimensions, giving a total of 30 statements to analyze and record the truthful data to demonstrate the state in which each establishment is, making them socially responsible. On the other hand, to assess the competitiveness variable, the BID methodology was used, which is made up of 103 statements focused on areas and sub-areas classified into: Strategic planning, value chain, quality assurance, merchandising, information systems, accounting and finance, human talent and environmental management in order to find the problems and virtues that are part of the establishments. Finally, the information obtained was systematized in matrices of results where descriptive statistical tables were made with the data obtained, which yielded the following results in the sustainability variable, scores between 2 and 7 were obtained, which means that certain establishments implement sustainability when providing their services, with a final result of an index of 4.71. On the other hand, in the competitiveness variable, 12 of the 16 companies evaluated have a percentage between 0 and 20%, which means that the companies have a low level of competitiveness, and the 4 missing companies have a percentage between 21 and 40%, with an index of 19.21. Subsequently, statistical correlation tests were applied using the SPSS statistical program where the Spearman correlation test was applied, giving a correlation of 0.05 between the two study variables, which means that they depend on each other to make a difference in the tourism market. Therefore, a SWOT analysis was carried out with the MEFE, MEFI, Crusade and impacts matrices, taking into account the positive and negative results of the surveys with the objective of proposing 16 fundamental improvement strategies to eliminate weaknesses and make use of the strengths of each company to become more profitable in a given period of time. In conclusion, improvement strategies were proposed for lodging companies to grow in the tourism market and develop their potential. |
