Gaia:This investigation about the attention deficit and hyperactivity was made because it is a disorder that can be confused by the teacher and cause a negative impact on the performance of students. The lack of knowledge about the disorder, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder of both the teacher and the parents has led to this problem goes unnoticed because they are unaware of some of the characteristics of the hyperactivity and its concept, that is why it is that label to all children restless and hyperactive without giving them the appropriate care and treatment for the children of this establishment can improve their social relationships with children and their parents. The main objective is to diagnose the attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder in the process of teaching and learning in basic education students elementary period 2016-2017, to establish the causes that may lead to children suffer or not of this disorder that can affect their concentration on learning. Therefore the teacher demand knowledge about this type of disorder and be able to adapt its work to the needs of children in the case of requiring it. The methodology used was based on the quantitative approach using the descriptive research, bibliographic and field, the technique used was a survey that was applied to teachers and parents for obtaining data. The results showed that the children have disobedience and not Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder; therefore, the teacher must self-prepare to recognize the differences between disobedience and hyperactivity with learning scenarios and strategies to improve the academic achievement of all students. This research made it possible to expand the knowledge of teachers and parents about the Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, its importance is focused on the analysis of the causes of the compartments are not suitable for children, which brings like consequence the criticism of teachers, parents, siblings, other family members, which causes a low self-esteem that affects their personal and academic activities, therefore teachers should develop methodological strategies that allow you to identify the actions of each student to understand the behavior of children in the teaching-learning process.
