| Résumé: | At digital era, Business Intelligence (BI) has become essential to strategic and informed decisions through data use; therefore, a BI module focused on laboratories reservation at Technical University of Cotopaxi (UTC) has been developed. Considering that every business intelligence process starts by extraction of operational data, a functionality has been developed that allows to teachers manage practical guides carried out at five careers that are part of Engineering and Applied Sciences Faculty (CIYA). It starts with a bibliographic review process through the most appropriate development tools for backend and frontend of the system have been established, resorting to use free software such as PHP, PostgreSQL and Chart,js to generate visualizations combining synchronous and asynchronous programming techniques. In order to organize work development, the Scrum methodology has been adapted, which means that implementation of BI system provides benefits such as detailed monitoring of laboratories use, optimizing their availability and avoiding schedule conflicts. In addition, reports and analyses that identify patterns and trends are generated, which improves planning and resource allocation. In addition, this solution helps to detect areas for improvement at laboratory access and reservation system in associated processes, allowing effective adjustments and continuous improvements. |
