Riassunto:This research was carried out at San Marcos sector, located in the Latacunga canton, Cotopaxi province; investigating the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in cattle, since the main problem that exists is the multiple diseases (diarrhea, anemia, enteritis, organ failure) caused by the presence of these hosts in the cattle's organism. Consequently, young cattle are the ones that have been most affected by this problem since they can contract this infection directly from the mother through lactation. In the same way, the group of parasites that cause these diseases was analyzed, establishing their individual characteristics such as size, location, evolutionary cycle, among other aspects. After carrying out all the analyzes and determining the major causes of the spread of these parasites, it was found that the most frequent in the organism of cattle are: Coccidia, trichostrongylus, and Haemonchus; therefore, preventive and corrective actions were proposed to help reduce the percentage of infected cattle, thus ensuring that their health conditions are the most appropriate so they can perform their production functions properly.
