Zusammenfassung:This research report investigates the phenomenon of the Glass Ceiling (TC), specifically the causes of the low representation of women in management positions, a specific case in the Technical University of Cotopaxi (UTC), which is evident in early 2020, the 38 % of addresses occupied by women, which justifies the completion of this thesis. After the bibliographic review and the fieldwork, the general causes that hinder women's access to managerial positions are defined. In this way, the TC barriers model is structured into three types (internal, external and mixed). The context in which the research has been developed uses a quantitative approach, the methodology used uses a set of related variables with which the questionnaire used in the application of the survey technique is applied, allowing representative information to be obtained. The descriptive analysis of the data obtained and the corresponding contrast of the variables allowed us to validate the general causes that contribute to the TC, summarized in the proposal of an action plan to mitigate or avoid them, through the Logical Framework Matrix (MML). From the foregoing, it is concluded that of the causes stipulated in the conceptual analysis of the TC, with direct influence are determined in the UTC: the lack of confidence in their abilities, being less competitive than men, the style of leadership, the personal choice, gender stereotypes assumed by society, the development of legislation that supports parity, the full availability of time, the weight of domestic responsibility, the lack of experience in managerial positions and the measures to reconcile responsibility domestic with the managerial task, the same that damages the promotion. Lastly, and in accordance with these causes, recommendations are proposed through the MML to reduce TC in the UTC
