| Izvleček: | The study is aimed at classifying and listing the causes for confiscation during the sanitary inspection, determining in a macroscopic way the anatomopathological alterations of slaughterhouse cattle; allowing the compilation of a database with the places of origin and pathological incidences by seized organ, and to analyze the socio-economic impacts related to slaughter with surveys applied by introducers, vendors and consumers; The study was carried out in the Salcedo slaughterhouse with a total of 704 livestock inspected before and after mortem, the results obtained are: Latacunga with 42% seizures due to distomatosis and adhesions in 22 carcasses; Mulliquindil (Salcedo canton) with 33% seizures due to distomatosis and abscesses in 17 carcasses; Mulalillo (Salcedo canton) with 17% seizures due to distomatosis in 9 carcasses; San Miguel (Salcedo canton) with 4% seizures due to adhesions in 2 channels; and Antonio José Holguin (Salcedo canton) with 4% seizures due to hydatid disease in 2 carcasses; thus obtaining a total of 52 cattle (tables 1-2 and fig 2). The most affected organs in the post-mortem inspection were liver and lung, which were more susceptible to Distomatosis (tables 3 and fig 3); Based on the collected information, we were able to complete the analysis by applying surveys to three different social strata: introducers, dealers, and consumers to analyze the cost and social benefit caused by the confiscation of carcasses during the sanitary inspection (tables 4-15 and fig 4- fifteen). Concluding that the confiscation within the sanitary inspection is a negative impact due to the fact that bovine production as producers, introducers, sellers and consumers have a high level of ignorance about diseases related to the consumption of carcasses in poor condition. |
