Summary: | This research had as general objective to determine the impact of socioeconomic factors in school performance of students in the Sixth Year morning section of the Municipal School “Ing. Guillermo Sotomayor Navas" by identifying socioeconomic factors to achieve meaningful learning. Socio-economic problems erupt negatively on the process of assimilation of knowledge in the classrooms of educational establishments Ecuador therefore deserve a professional approach through tools and strategies to address such situations. According to INEC data performed in 2011 in Ecuador 49.3% are middle-class households and 14.9% to the lower strata of socioeconomic factors; these indices have been growing due to increased 4.77% in unemployment in 2015. This paper is not intended to solve the problems of socio-economic nature, but raise awareness of the impact of these factors on the performance of students achieving strengthen and boost the quality of life. Improving education with equity, quality, warmth and coverage, contributing to the needs of the knowledge society and information based on quality standards, promoting the development based on skills and general, basic and specific approaches to students allow the successful development in their environment, to access better living conditions is ideal for the population of the canton and educational community recognizing the rights and duties of citizenship. The main beneficiaries are the teachers, parents and the educational community that the results will be reflected through better academic quality of students and better institutional image of the campus. |
