| Summary: | Conserving biodiversity means maintaining the variety of species and genetic resources, as well as the environment in which different species coexist and are interrelated. The project was carried out with the objective of evaluating the Hematological and Biochemical Profile in Ecuadorian Creole Sheep. The investigation was carried out in Alausi Canton, Province of Chimborazo located at 3800 meters above sea level, low and almost constant temperatures throughout the year, abundant and regular rains. We used 30 Creole sheep (14 males and 16 females, with ages ranging from 8 to 2-4 years and 4-8 years). The hematological variables were evaluated (hematocrit, hemoglobin, erythrocyte, VGM, MCH, CGMH, platelets, and leukocytes, which were analyzed by automated and manual techniques.) In the chemical profile (Glucose, Urea, BUN, Creatinine, AST, ALT, Total proteins, Calcium, phosphorus and potassium by the calorimetric and enzymatic method. The result of these data was analyzed statistically (ANOVA), standard deviation (Standard deviation). Among the study factors in relation to sex and age range, the values of hematocrit in Creole sheep show significant differences in the group of adult creole sheep (H 33.96 ± 2.02 ab%), and (M 38.45 ± 2.18a%), in terms of hemoglobin the values show significant differences for the group of young animals (H 9.27 ± 0.57 bg / L), (M 13.15 ± 0.60 ag / L), and in adults with averages of (H 11.30 ± 0.64 abg / L), and (M 12.85 ± 0.70 ag / L), also erythrocyte shows significant difference in young animals with averages of (H 7, 35 ± 0.48 a106 / )l), (M 10.12 ± 0.51 b106 / Μl), and adult sheep (H8.82 ± 0.54 to 106 / )l), (M 9.81 ± 0.59106 / Μl), finally a significant difference was found in young animal platelets (H 0.26 ± 0.04b106 / Μl), (M0.40 ± 0.04 to 106 / μL), and adults (H 0.32 ± 0.04). a b106 / Μl), (M 0.44 ± 0.05 a106 / Μl), this variability depends on environmental, geographical and hormonal conditions, unlike leucogram and chemical profile. With which no significant differences were found |
