| Summary: | The research project "Solar Cities Bi-digester System for the recycling of organic effluents from the bovine production of CAREN- UTC Department 2018-2019 ", was developed in the milking stable of the Veterinary Medicine Career of the Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Department. The need for this bio-digester originated in the high environmental impact caused by the inadequate management of bovine manure produced in the livestock operation of CAREN department. The objective is to improve the inadequate disposal of organic effluents from cattle production through the design and construction of a bio-digester that is friendly to the environment, taking advantage of their energy and nutrients. The respective analyzes were carried out for the quantitative and qualitative characterization of the generated effluents. The gathering of information from the study area made it possible to identify the current environmental conditions that are generated by inadequate waste management. During the maintenance of the milking barn, the generation of organic effluents is 220 liters per day that are discharged to the road. Currently the effluent is released into the environment where it generates unpleasant odors, emission of greenhouse gases (methane gas) and the creation of an auspicious environment to the development of harmful biodiversity and diseases. The design and construction of the Solar Cities bio-digester is an economic model of easy transportation, built with accessible materials for the development of the same, has thermal insulation. This bio-digester has 5 systems: the feed system that directs the excreta to the fermentation tank, the gas outlet system is transported to the gas storage tank, the outlet fertilizer system, the intake gas system and the outlet gas system for its use. |
