Propuesta de implementación de señalética turística en la finca experimental “La Represa”, ubicada en la parroquia San Carlos, cantón Quevedo, Provincia de los Ríos, año 2020

This research was carried out in the province of Los Ríos, Quevedo canton, San Carlos parish. The general objective was to design a proposal for the implementation of tourist signs for the experimental farm "La Represa", following the standards established in the Manual of Tourist Signs of Ecuador, prepared by the Ministry of Tourism in 2011, to promote tourism and facilitate the movement of tourists to different areas of the farm. Three specific objectives were set for the development of the research project, which were fulfilled through different research methods. The first allowed a diagnosis of the existing signs in the farm through direct observation to determine the state in which they were, giving a total of 116 signs, where 24 are in good condition, 47 in regular state and 45 in bad condition. A zoning was made divided in 10 existing areas in the experimental farm "La Represa", each one of them with different uses and activities, identifying also those places where tourist facilities are needed such as: paths and informative signs through the visits to the place. For the elaboration of the design of new signs, the farm was visited to determine the points where implementation was necessary. Later, with the help of the Manual of Tourist Signage of Ecuador, 22 signage models were made, including: 15 destination and tourist attraction fences, 3 approach signs, 2 risk signs, 1 destination fence and 1 totem. In conclusion, it was determined that signage is very important in tourism that allows tourists to move around in a self-guided visit. For this reason, the implementation of signage in the experimental farm "La Represa" is important since it will generate local tourism development. Keywords: signaling, design, zoning, farm
