Resumo:Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease that usually attacks the lungs and other parts of the body, including the kidneys, spine, and brain. Thus, it represents a notable public health problem, with an incidence and prevalence that has been increasing in recent years in low-developed countries, with the greatest increase in South and Central America. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to analyze the predisposing factors of death in the geriatric patient who died due to complications of resistant tuberculosis and pulmonary fibrosis, through available sources of information, proposing specialized care based on nursing care. To this end, a thorough review of the clinical history was carried out and a comprehensive nursing assessment was carried out through Marjory Gordon's functional patterns. Subsequently, after analysis, significant problems were identified related to the health perception-management pattern, metabolic nutritional, elimination, activity- exercise and perceptual cognitive. Finally, to conclude, five nursing care plans were designed based on the NANDA, NOC and NIC taxonomies, focused on addressing the ineffective respiratory pattern, excess fluid volume, constipation, acute pain and ineffective self-management of health, that aim to reduce the patient's risk of death.
