Резюме:Based on the need for continuous improvement and innovation of machinery for business development and improvement of competitiveness, the study of optimization of the balsa blocks production process through the implementation of a hydraulic press replacing the conventional manual method used in the Garcia Paguay Industry (INGARPAG S.A) for the process of forming the block. To demonstrate optimization, the effect of pressing systems on performance, block production per hour, cost analysis for operation and final product quality is analyzed in a comparative manner, obtaining data from two companies that use the different systems (manual -hydraulic) but the same work methodology for production. Based on the analysis of the data, significant differences are observed in terms of yields that are reflected in the production going from 0.55 to 1 block / hour according to the system, having a reduction in working hours through the implementation of a hydraulic system fulfilling the daily planning in less time, as well as reduction of costs in the pressing stage due to the decrease of supplies, personnel and maintenance to carry out this, as well as improvements in the quality of the product, mainly in the formation of the block, evidencing improvements reflected as optimization in all points evaluated.
