| Gaia: | Β-glucans are glucose polymers, they have been used in aquaculture to modulate the innate immune system of fish, in order to improve their survival in the early stages of their development, which is why it was used as one more additive in their diet with the objective of evaluating the zootechnical, nutritional and serum biochemical response in juvenile red tilapia (Oreochromis sp) with inclusion of ß-glucan in the diet, which was carried out in El Vergel, Valencia canton, Los Ríos Province. The work lasted 60 days; A completely randomized design (DCA) was used, with four treatments at 0, 1, 3 and 5% of β-glucan in a granulated diet and three repetitions (experimental tanks) with a density of 20 specimens as an experimental unit for each repetition for a total of 240 pieces. Zootechnical variables (weight increase, frame increase, weight gain, frame gain, specific growth rate, survival rate, condition factor, absolute growth rate), nutritional variables (feed conversion rate and efficiency) were evaluated. of food)) and serum biochemistry (glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides).
