| Summary: | This research was conducted at the Hacienda La Julia, Sector Martinique NOBOA Company, located 6 km road to Bejucal Island Parish, Canton BABA, whose coordinates are: 79 º 29 ' West and 0 ° 52 'south latitude at an altitude of 60msnm. The investigation lasted for 120 days. The management of the trial was conducted according to technical specifications for the management of banana cultivation. It raised the overall objective: To evaluate the use of sleeves of different thicknesses in the quality of the cluster of bananas and specific) to determine the quality of fruit produced in the treatments carried out b) Determine the cost of treatment subject to the assumptions: a) The T1 with thick covers 0.4 improves the quality of the bunch of bananas and b) T1 with thick covers 0.4 improves the quality of the bunch of bananas. We used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five repetitions. To determine differences between treatment means was used multiple range test of Tukey (P <0.05). The quality of the cluster in the treatments was similar, indicating that all cases fulfilled their function of preserving the quality of the bunch. The density of the cover was not a factor, except for fruit length at the second assessment, where it is seen that with pockets of higher density improves the length of the fruit. The weights of the clusters behaved similarly when using the four cases of different densities, without affecting fruit quality. The fruit damage caused by insect incidence was similar between the different densities and it was found that in all cases was reduced. |
