| Resumo: | This research was based on evaluating three protocols for the extraction and purification of DNA from bovine lung tissue for molecular study, in the municipal slaughterhouse of the Quevedo, where the samples of the different treatments were extracted. DNA extraction and purification tests were performed in the Molecular Biology Laboratory belongs to Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo. We used a completely randomized design (DCA), with three treatments; and four repetitions. For the mean differences of the treatments, the Tukey test (p ≤ 0.05) was used. Variables of DNA quantity and quality were studied, and an economic analysis of the protocols was carried out. Within the results, T2 reached higher values in terms of quantity and quality; with averages of 23.32 ng / uL and 28.31% respectively; while T1 was less effective when extracting DNA volume with an average of 7.04 ng / uL and a low percentage with 8.31% in terms of quality. Regarding the economic analysis of DNA extraction, the treatment with the highest cost was T3 with $ 405.18, while the lowest cost was T1 with $ 326.93; This is because each protocol requires specific equipment and reagents, plus the work hours of each implemented equipment generates variability in the energy use of each treatment.
