The research was conducted in the city of Latacunga provincial capital, is located in the alley inter-Andean valley in which is seated. It presents a very irregular and rugged topography, which has hampered the normal growth of the city. Its urban parishes: Ignacio Flores, The Matrix, Eloy Alfaro, San Buenaventura and Juan Montalvo, and as rural parishes: Belisario Quevedo, Poale, November 11, Pastocalle, Toacaso, Mulal, Alaquez, Guaytacama Jose Guango low Tanicuchi. Counting main objective conduct a study on management and classification system for solid waste places and markets that provide an understanding of critical issues, strengths, weaknesses and improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of the canton Latacunga, and specific objectives: Diagnosing the current situation, and management of solid waste from the streets and markets of Canton Latacunga. Determine the process of collecting solid waste. Make an array to set the critical issues, strengths and weaknesses of the canton of GAD in the management of solid wastes. To propose the implementation of a comprehensive management plan for solid waste in the streets and markets of Canton Latacunga. It is hypothesized: The classification system of solid waste from the streets and markets of Canton Latacunga, can improve the lives of its inhabitants. The population considered for this research was people doing their business in public squares and markets, with a population of 143,979 inhabitants. The results of the research were: The high percentage of 53% of respondents and in charge of cleaning the city of Latacunga which ensures that the greatest amount of waste produced are derived from farming, compared to 18% plastic. On the other hand the percentage of 82% of the cleaning staff in ensuring that households produce more waste inorganic, resulting in only 4% carried a basic classification of the wastes. Of the total of municipal employees surveyed, 70% say they have acquired a disease resulting from the presence of garbage. Once the surveys, 63% of respondents stated that the waste has increased significantly in recent years. 38% stated that the problem of litter, is due to the volume that occurs especially in the streets and markets, of which 91% of respondents stated that the trash gives a bad appearance to the streets and markets. 76% stated that the Municipal Government has not conducted any activities to benefit the environment. 38% stated that it would solve this problem through improvement projects and 82% of them states that it can create environmental awareness from homes. |
